I enjoy running. I'm not an exercise freak, but I like to run outside or sometimes on the treadmill. As more time passes, I gain more stamina and can go a little farther, but I can never seem to break past a certain (low!) mile mark. I do think it's mostly mental for me. I just don't feel like going farther. But yesterday something else occurred to me.
When I run, I clench my right (little) arm. I have extension just past my elbow, and I bend the elbow and clench there when I run. It's not comfortable and I always find myself moving it around to loosen it up while running. Sometimes it even sort of hurts.
Also, I'm unbalanced when I run. Running is supposed to make you feel strong and free, but it usually just makes me more aware of the fact that my body is uneven. I feel off kilter, unbalanced.
So I wonder if, no matter how much I train, I'll never be a great runner or able to run long distances? I'm just plain uncomfortable with my short arm when I run. Has anyone else felt this way?
